Medusa is about confronting something vast and unknowable. I was thinking about Medusa not only as a mythic figure, but also through the jellyfish and the constellation — three different forms of the same name, all carrying this strange mixture of danger, beauty, distance, and transformation.
The painting feels almost anatomical to me, but not like one stable body. Forms keep becoming nerves, organs, tentacles, weather, water, stars. I wanted it to sit somewhere between chaos and order, attraction and threat, visibility and mystery — like looking at something that is alive, sacred, and too large to fully understand.
