Glyph came out of thinking about a mark as something halfway between an image and a message. I was interested in painting almost like writing: a shape can behave like a sentence, diagram, symbol, or piece of code without actually translating into language.
The long format makes me read it from side to side. Forms drift through yellow, red, grey, and green like something being transmitted, interrupted, and rewritten. At the time I was thinking about making an airy “void-space home” first and then putting something inside it to live, die, disrupt it, or harmonize with it. Glyph feels like one of those messages suspended inside its own atmosphere.
